Our active learning program begins with a one and a half day retreat, followed by eight monthly, day-long sessions including numerous field trips, group projects and other practical experiences. The Program is friendly, interactive and intense: participants are expected to attend each of the Program Days and to contribute consistently to the work of the group.

Orientation - A half day meeting where new class members will meet each other, meet some of the LSV Board of Directors, and learn what they may expect from the Program.  Each class member has his or her photo taken for use in a class directory and class binders are distributed. Aug. 20, 2009

Retreat - During the LSV Class Retreat in September, the class immerses itself in team building, leadership and problem solving, and examines the institutions and organizations that make their communities tick. Sept. 17 - 18, 2009

Program Days- From October to May, the group develops knowledge and informed points of view on key issues and trends in their communities.

Graduation - In June, class members are honored for their hard work throughout the year. Groups present on their community projects, while a guest speaker gives them one last piece of advice. Graduates receive a certificate and other tokens of their accomplishments. June 17, 2010
